This temple enshrines two image of Buddha. The Nison-in means ‘two principal image temple’ in Japanese. The approach to the temple is very beautiful with colored leaves in late autumn.

The vast garden has about two hundreds maple trees, Shishiku-garden. The garden becomes red everywhere with red leaves in late autumn.

There is a garden ‘Kosho-garden’. You can see a part of sight in Arashiyama from the garden. You will see cultural treasures in this temple, Seihoo Takeuchi’s masterpiece, etc. It’s a special exhibition.

The shrine enshrines the God of sake making. There is a dry landscape garden, ‘Shohu-en’, by Mirei Shigemori who was famous a garden designer in Showa time.

This cozy temple is beautiful with colored leaves in autumn. The temple treasure will be exhibited from November 15th.

This is only one museum where old dolls are exhibited in Japan. There is an exhibition about Saga-doll in autumn.

In Heian era, Saiou who was Emperor’s daughter came to this shrine for purging her body before serving God. And this shrine is written in ‘The Tale of Genji’.

This temple has about 8000 stone images and stony towers that were tombs in the old days. It has air of sorrow with colored leaves.
